Half of my group doesn't even have a computer at all they just use their phone. Lots of people are moving on from Windows now. I know this isn't going to be a huge game, so I understand the limited resources in play here, but the gaming world is a very different place than it was just a few years ago. What I'm trying to say is that, unless there's a native Mac version, I'm out, which is disappointing, because I could see paying for 6 copies myself (at current pricing) to get all of my group on this, and avoid the board setup time. I know I could create a BootCamp partition, but I just don't want to maintain a 3rd OS on my machine (after macOS and the Parallels install). I have Parallels for work-related stuff, and I've upgraded to the latest version because of their supposed better graphics capabilities, but Skyrim ran like a slideshow, so I'm thinking that it's just as useless as Wine for gaming (and I'm a little peeved at them for what I consider to be false advertising). Unfortunately, for this video game version, I am done with Windows-based computers.Īfter 19 years of using Linux on the desktop, I've tried every incarnation of Wine for gaming, including the commercial ones, and I always just kept a Windows partition to play games on. There are 6 of us playing the game across 2 box sets. We just started playing Gloomhaven a couple months ago. I'm part of a board gaming group that usually meets once a month or so.
